PROGRAM

The Beacon Experience is committed to provide an age-appropriate program for its adopted class during their first years in elementary, all the way through high school. The program will also assist the members of the adopted class in making the transition from high school to college and other post-high school pursuits. The Beacon Experience will assist its members by committing the following:

Increasing parental support and involvement
• Developing immediate and long term goals
• Providing exposure of mentors and role models
• Correlating education with the world of work
• Enhancing Self-Esteem
• Promoting success in school

To achieve these objectives, the program has employed a full-time Project Coordinator (PC) to organize activities and oversee the students of the adopted class and their progress. Activities of the Beacon Experience will include ongoing educational and cultural activities, field trips, parent meetings, after-school programs, tutoring, mentoring and other services to promote the adopted class’ success. The members of the adopted class’ who graduate from high school or obtain a GED are eligible for tuition assistance from the Beacon Experience according to the terms of the Tuition Assistance Policy as long as they follow the Foundation’s Student Code of Conduct.
